Rob Oldfield is a gilder, typographer and educator, with nearly forty years experience working in museums and historic interiors. He recognizes the importance of crafts like gilding and he has a desire to pass on his knowledge so that it does not become yet another ‘forgotten art’ in an increasingly digital world.

About the Event:
Gilding is a decorative technique for applying a very thin coating of metal to solid surfaces. The effect is beautiful and this is a rare opportunity to learn it yourself.
Rob will provide all materials including imitation metal leaf and real gold leaf too! Objects to gild will also be provided but feel free to bring your own small belongings that you want to cover in gold. (nothing soft/fluffy obviously)
